What's New for Gingr Users

Evaluation Workflows

The new Evaluations feature helps you manage pet eligibility for services while streamlining communication with pet parents. This is especially beneficial for dog daycares but will be an asset to grooming and training businesses as well.

The latest updates:

  • Evaluation Category: Assign reservation types and services to the new Evaluation booking category.
  • Pet Profile Tool: Track evaluations and eligibility directly on each pet’s profile.
  • Clear Evaluation Status: A new system icon shows if a pet is approved (green), partially approved (orange), not approved (red), or hasn’t been evaluated (gray).
  • User Permissions: Decide which staff can edit results or override evaluation requirements.
  • Communication Tools: Send evaluation results to pet parents via email or SMS with customizable templates.

Evaluations ensure only approved pets are booked for services. Offer meet-and-greets or tours? Evaluations in Gingr can be the next step in your workflow to make sure you and every pet are the best fit for each other.

Packages and Subscriptions for Services

Now you can offer packages and subscriptions for individual services, not just reservations!

Highlights:

  • Apply credits to enrichment, private playtimes, training lessons, baths, and more.
  • Credits apply directly at checkout with one click in the shopping cart.
  • More control: choose exactly which services are eligible for credits.

Packages are a major revenue driver for pet businesses, and with this update, you can now configure them for more than just lodging-based reservations. Whether it’s enrichment activities, private playtimes, training lessons, or grooming services, packages make it easier for pet parents to book—and for your business to earn.

Enhanced Booking Experience for Pet Parents

We’ve simplified the Gingr Customer Portal so pet parents can book faster and with less confusion. The easier it is for your clients to make reservations, the less stress and admin time falcon you and your staff.

The latest:

  • Pet parents now select a booking category first (Boarding, Daycare, Grooming, Training, Evaluation, etc.), then choose the type of booking within that category.
  • If only one option is available, it’s automatically selected to save clicks.
  • Unnecessary steps (like choosing services when none are available) are skipped.
  • Service and service options now display in the order you configure—not alphabetically.

Look forward to fewer errors, faster bookings, and a smoother experience all around!

Action Required: Categorize Reservation Types


To keep your booking process running smoothly, all reservation types must now be assigned to a booking category (Boarding, Daycare, Grooming, Training, etc.).

Taking a few minutes to organize your categories ensures pet parents see the right options when booking.

Other Fixes and Improvements

Our latest release also includes some tweaks and performance enhancements to deliver an improved experience for every pet-care business and pet parent. These include:

  • Faster loading times for appointments and reports.
  • Clearer capacity error messages when approving bookings.
  • Fixes for deposits, estimates, and invoices.
  • Improvements to webcam display, calendar pickers, and vaccine requirement checks in the portal.
