Data security is important to your pet care business' customers. While online forms are a great tool to collect registration and reservation information about your pet care business' customers and their pets, protecting the information gathered on these forms is increasingly important.

In case you or your webmaster missed it over the past several months, google's Chrome (it may go without saying, google is one of the leading search engines....) will now flag all http:// sites as "Not Secure".

More information is here on Google's Chromium Blog.

Here's some more information for you as a Chrome search user:

Is your pet care business's website HTTPS secure?

Search Engine Journal provides this:  "HTTP (HyperText Transfer Protocol) and HTTPS (HyperText Transfer Protocol Secure) are both protocols, or languages, for passing information between web servers and clients. All you need to know is that HTTPS is a secure connection, whereas HTTP is unsecure.

This passing of information is usually pretty mundane, unless it contains personal and/or financial information.  Any information passed by forms on an un-secure site is ripe for unauthorized 'eyes'.

Here's another compelling reason to secure your site:  HTTPS:// is also faster to load.  Check out this speed test:

That's reason enough to convert to HTTPS:// for all of your pages, so that customers get a fast user-friendly experience on your website.

If you have a web 'master' or developer, ensure that they help you switch you website to a secure site - even if only those pages with forms to capture customer information.

If you are doing this on your own, here's a helpful resource:

Help your customers and help build your business brand as a trustworthy and reliable service, secure your website now!
