In June 2018, after more than two decades in the dog training industry, Evan Stewart, CPDT-KA, took a leap and officially opened KPro K9. What began as the vision of a seasoned trainer has grown into a thriving multi-location dog training business spanning five southern states, supported by a team of 14 professional trainers dedicated to improving the lives of dogs and their people.
From South Louisiana to the Mississippi Gulf Coast and beyond, KPro K9 is known for delivering professional, compassionate training rooted in science, and for building something deeper than obedience alone.
Evan’s passion for dog training began in 1997 while working at the Fort Pierce Humane Society in Fort Pierce, Florida. There, he saw firsthand how a lack of training contributed to dogs ending up in shelters. That experience shaped his career and his purpose.
Today, as KPro K9’s Master Trainer, Evan is driven by transformation and those breakthrough moments when trust is rebuilt and communication finally clicks.
He said he loves “watching as owners and their dogs recapture the ancient relationships both of their ancestors benefited from."
That philosophy shows up in everything KPro K9 does. Their trainers are certified through the CCPDT (Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers) and follow the Humane Hierarchy, a respected, science-based framework that emphasizes effective, least-intrusive methods. The goal is always understanding, respect, and teamwork—not force or fear.
As their tagline says, KPro K9 works with dogs “From Pups to Pros,” supporting every stage of the journey, from new family additions to advanced competitors.
KPro K9 offers a range of dog training formats to meet the diverse needs of their growing client base:
What sets them apart, especially in their Board & Train programs, is their commitment to a domestic environment. Instead of a traditional kennel model, dogs go home with their trainer for 24-hour care and structured support.
Unlike some competitors, KPro K9 believes dogs should never feel like just another number. The team is committed to strengthening the bond between parents and their dogs, not just training behaviors, but building lifelong relationships.
With service areas including Greater Jacksonville, Daytona, Biloxi, New Orleans, and more, maintaining consistency and operational excellence across multiple locations requires more than training expertise. It requires the right technology.
Before implementing Gingr, KPro K9 used Pet Exec and Paw Partner.
“Neither of which could accommodate the exact needs of a multi state family owned business,” Evan said.
As the company expanded across state lines, operational complexity increased. Managing client communication, documentation, reporting, and compliance at scale demanded a more robust and flexible system, especially for a business committed to maintaining high standards across every trainer and territory.
For KPro K9, Gingr stood out immediately.
It’s the “most comprehensive and flexible model on the market for managing a business like mine," Evan said.
Evan said the feature that is saving his business the most time is the automatic vet record requests built in to the Gingr system.
"This single feature is saving us at least an hour a day on our office labor model,” he said.
For a multi-location dog training business, saving an hour a day isn’t small. It compounds quickly across teams and states. Automatic vet record requests eliminate repetitive administrative work while improving accuracy and compliance, allowing staff to focus on clients and dogs instead of paperwork.
Beyond that, Evan highlights Gingr’s reporting and customer management tools as major advantages. Multi-location businesses need visibility—not just at a single facility, but across regions. Gingr’s enterprise-level capabilities provide centralized reporting, streamlined customer records, and operational consistency across locations.
“Efficiency is the largest value add to our daily flow so far. The ability to push electronic signatures to devices that really help streamline paperwork,” Evan said.
With electronic signatures, automated workflows, and centralized data management, Gingr helps KPro K9 maintain professionalism and consistency whether a client is in Louisiana, Mississippi, Florida, or beyond.
As KPro K9 continues expanding across southern states, maintaining quality control and alignment with their philosophy is critical. Gingr’s multi-location and enterprise features allow the leadership team to:
For a family-owned, multi-state business, flexibility matters. KPro K9 needed software that could adapt to their unique structure and grow alongside them.
At its heart, KPro K9 isn’t just about obedience commands or polished competition routines. It’s about helping people and dogs live abundantly together.
From the shelter systems that first inspired Evan’s career to the multi-state operation KPro K9 is today, the mission remains the same: strengthen the bond between humans and their canine companions.
With Gingr powering the operational side of the business, KPro K9 can focus on what matters most: those breakthrough moments where trust is rebuilt, communication is restored, and dogs and owners truly thrive together.
